A long sofa on a hand-fluted plinth.
A clean tuxedo silhouette set on a hand-fluted oak plinth. The fluting is carved by hand in eighteen passes; the cover is a dense linen-cotton in tobacco. Two bolster pillows are included with every piece.
The Marlowe began as a study in what to do with the gap beneath a sofa. The plinth — fluted by hand, in eighteen passes — closes that gap without weighting the room. The result is a piece that looks heavier than it is, and lifts the linen-cotton above the floor by exactly seven centimetres so the dust never reaches the cushions.
